Yummy Updates

I have sadly neglected this blog over the past semester, but IMMM back! Here is some recent work from the past few months. If you can't tell, I have fallen in love even more than ever with food photography.

These are screen shots from work in progress and images I am still editing for final projects coming up!

Dance for a Chance

These were all taken at a Bboy jam on Saturday. This was the first time I had ever went to anything like this and I was so mesmerized by not only the dancing, but all the clothes, shoes and tattoos.

Yet Another Sutro Trip

For my conceptual class, we took a class trip to my favorite place, the Sutro Baths! Fortunately for me, only two other classmates came on this trip with one of my favorite professors, David Wasserman which meant more one on one time shooting with him. The weather was horrible by tourist standards, but stunning from a photographers stand point- mist, 40 degrees, rolling fog, and overcast defused light. I was excited for this trip because it was roughly the 5th time I have gone to photograph the baths since I began at the Academy, and I wanted to see my progression and change while shooting the same subject. I went in Octoberand September this semester alone, but this most recent trip was the most beautiful by far.

All of these photos were taken for my own collection- not for the assignment at hand, which was "nature taking back the man made."

David Wasserman!

FreedMinds Fall/Winter Release Party!

My dear friend Carolina had 3 pieces of work in a gallery/release party hosted by a group of talented artists Freedminds this Friday. All the work was so unique and beautiful, and the space it was hosted at was also really amazing. From the paintings on the walls, to the music playing- it was the making of a successful night! Our friends Story, Sydney, and John went too- it was such a lovely evening spent with great company and good vibes.

Sydney Street

The skies were lovely and over cast on Friday so my friend Sydney allowed me to shoot her quickly in some nearby alleys. We got kicked out of one, which makes me want to go back even more now- who knew you couldn't photograph in certain city streets? Haaha, thanks again Syd!

A Week of Stop Motion

Last weekend I went a little crazy with stop motion and challenged myself to make full stop motion of my entire week. Here are moments snapped from things I did this week; photo shoots, dinner time, pretty glimpses of my beautiful friends! Thank you for everyone who let me shoot them, hopefully they keep getting better and better, and are awesome time capsules to our lives :)

P.S. This is DAYLIGHT by Matt and Kim, one of my favorites bands in which I MET! :)

Elle in Studio

The amazing Elle let me shoot her in the studio on Sunday. It was fun being in the studio opposed to being outside in the pouring rain! I brought some bubbles to play with, its amazing how such simple things can make so many people instantly happier! Thanks again, Elle!

Rain, Caro, and Cathedral

About a year ago I got really obsessed with the idea of stop motion films, and the itch came back again this weekend after seeing a few really interesting work from other inspiring people. I thought today would be a good day to start my interest, so I went to Grace Cathedral Church with my friend and photographer Caro, and kept the shutter busy. This is a really rough version, but it took me a few hours to edit out stuff, weave this together, and so on. I am in love with the rain and this song, which is a cover of Where Is My Mind originally by the Pixies but here by Maxence Cyrin.

This short clip was compiled with over 800 photos in the course of 30 minutes.

Fashion Pawn Preview

This is my friend and blogger, Meme, who graciously let me shoot her in the studio this past weekend to play with lights. She styled, I clicked the shutter :)

Following Shwanda

I had the opportunity to follow my friend Shwanda around for a bit the night before she moved back to Mississippi.

Thank you again Shwanda, you are one of the most genuine people I have ever had the honor to meet, you are greatly missed. All of us back at Brodie wish you could have stayed longer! Your so amazing, keep us in touch with your life!
